Man who posed as online pharmacist 'Dr T' jailed for over 10 years
An illegal online pharmacist who referred to himself as ‘Dr T’ has been jailed for more than a decade. Tarik Adam Mehmet Turan, aged 36, from Eastfield, Scarborough, supplied prescription medication and ‘sesh’ drugs online using a WhatsApp group named ‘UK Pharmacy 2U’
This group had members spread across the UK, and Turan would take orders for a variety of drugs ranging from diazepam to cocaine. Despite having no medical training, Turan offered advice about the best drugs to take and supplied amounts far outweighing what would be clinically safe. His activities were identified following the arrests of individuals who were purchasing drugs from him, and he was arrested on 11 May 2023.
Police seized Turan’s phone and uncovered the full scale of his criminal enterprise, revealing drug sales spanning from Scotland to the south coast of England. Read more …
